'CPD Made Simple'  is an AMA Victoria Learn and Lunch webinar addressing all you need to know about the changes to CPD effective from 1 January 2024.

Presented on 24 November 2023 by AMA CPD Home (the only non-college AMC accredited CPD Home) this webinar includes a 30 minute presentation and Q&A. The session is relevant for all doctors and covers:

  • What are CPD Homes?
  • How does this affect you?
  • What are the mandatory CPD requirements?
  • What do these changes mean?
  • Which organisations are accredited by the AMC?
  • Do specialists have to choose their specialty college as their CPD home?
  • What do I need to know and do?
  • What is AMA’s CPD Home, what does it offer me, can I join?

From 1 January 2024, all Australian doctors will need to comply with the new CPD registration standard.

Under the new Medical Board of Australia’s Registration Standard: Continuing professional development (the Standard), doctors can no longer self-manage their CPD.

For ongoing medical registration, doctors must join an Australian Medical Council (AMC) approved CPD home from PGY3+.  There are some exceptions, but they are minimal and mostly apply to Interns (PGY1) and PGY2 doctors not in an accredited training pathway.
