Overview of the program
The Emerging Leader Program 1:1 is an interactive leadership development course for early career doctors (PGY1-8) interested in enhancing their leadership knowledge and skills.
The program is designed to support early career doctors to develop skills and strategies for enacting effective leadership in their everyday work, as well as preparing them to step into leadership positions in the future..
Individual Learning format:
The program delivers 13 CPD hours of 1:1 leadership education facilitated by our leadership expert Dr Anna Clark.
The format of this program is designed specifically for individual doctors to engage in on-demand and combines a 1 x 30-minute program launch session, four x 1-hr (1:1) education sessions on the topics:
- Introduction to collaborative leadership
- Leading self & others
- Leading teams
- Leading organisations
*NOTE: Education sessions are scheduled directly with the educator at a time that works with both your schedules.
The education sessions are complimented by self-directed education, video tutorials, readings, and self -reflection delivered via our learning platform.
The duration of the program ranges from 4 – 8 weeks depending on the doctor’s availability.

What comes after the program?
On conclusion of the Emerging Leader Program 1:1 participants can also choose to enrol in a four session individual coaching program with Anna Clark following the program. This one-on-one series of sessions allows participants to continue their work in a highly personalised way, with sessions tailored to support the specific development areas you are working on and challenges you may be facing. Who should attend this program
The program is designed for interns to senior registrars/fellows/junior consultants (PGY1-18) who are looking to develop their leadership capabilities for current or future leadership roles. This program does not require you to be in a formal leadership role – but you aspire to develop and embed these skills as you progress.

Program director
DR ANNA CLARK (PhD)
Leadership coach and educator
Anna Clark is an experienced consultant, coach, and educator with over 17 years’ experience in designing and developing professional development and education programs across universities and business schools, and for the school education and health sectors. Anna holds a PhD in social psychology, has taught organisational behaviour, communication skills and leadership development in MBA and executive education programs. She currently provides leadership coaching and leadership development programs to help leaders at all levels transition to and thrive in their leadership roles.
Anna is a Level 1 IECL Certified Coach, with hundreds of hours of experience proving tailored leadership coaching and leadership development programs to doctors. Anna also writes regularly for AMA Victoria, publishing on leadership topics highly relevant to the complex care and collaborative leadership required in healthcare settings.
Anna holds a Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psych, with Hons) and PhD in social psychology and held academic positions in psychology and organisational behaviour departments in the Netherlands, France, and Australia.
