AMA Victoria provides training for health professionals in the evaluation of permanent impairment for the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) Workers Compensation and Motor Accidents Schemes in NSW, and it is also recognised in some other states.

  • Motor Accidents CTP Scheme: The training is in using Part 6 of the SIRA NSW Motor Accidents Guidelines: Permanent impairment (the Guidelines). The methodology of impairment assessment is based on the American Medical Association's Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, Fourth Edition (AMA4 Guides).

  • Workers Compensation Scheme: The training is in using the SIRA NSW Workers Compensation Guidelines for the evaluation of permanent impairment 4th edition (the Guidelines), in conjunction with the American Medical Association Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment 5th Edition (AMA5).

The successful completion of the relevant SIRA training courses is a prerequisite for assessing permanent impairment in both the NSW Workers Compensation and Motor Accident Schemes.
